Nestled among stately Live Oaks in the Hill Country, the Doehne Oaks Barn creates a memorable entry to an existing home via a new entry courtyard, while creating flexible and playful indoor/outdoor spaces for a young family. The barn is designed to create a strong connection to the surrounding natural environment and enhance the unique sense of place.
Exterior spaces include car parking, entry dogrun, and stargazing catwalk. Interior spaces include storage and a courtyard-fronting garden room. The materials selected are meant to evoke the old barns of the area with rusty corrugated roofs combining with cedar siding and light-filtering cedar slats to feel at home in the Hill Country surrounding.
