Located on a grassy knoll overlooking the winding Medina River, this weekend spot is a short commute and a welcome respite from city life. The design leverages an airy barn, a pool house, a guest house, and an existing thoughtfully restored 19th century homestead to create a courtyard oasis. Native landscaping, a lap pool and a fire pit create a lively foreground for the homestead. New buildings take their cues from the old, with steep metal roofs, limestone walls and chimneys, and tall windows and doors for great daylight and views. A stroll down the hill to the river reveals a light, open pavilion perched above the water...a great place to swing from a hammock.
